Tamang are at crosseroad in Dorjeeling region ,History is witness How Tamang people are subjudicated, harrased. deprived from their right.now today exectly is going on Tamang people here have almost lost the ground inspite of being single largest community, i this so cal Gandhian movement for separate state have taken away ,AKBAR LAMA, MADAN TAMANG and VICKY LAMA, NIKCOL TAMANG disappear, SUBASH GHISING driven out , several Tamang house has been tourch, now look at statue comes up at sukna, kalchini , kalimpong , efforts is being made 2 errect at chowrasta and in darjeeling more, look at the public representative who are they ,this is situation, 22 years strragul for status and Identity seems 2 b at backfront, AITBA could not asserted publicly Tamang people's Identity and constitutional status, see the politics of new political despense in Dorjeeling, where Tamang stand. Now the Tamang people need introspection, unity , rising above political party interest,

With all due respect, your post is extremely ignorant and under-researched. I am a Tamang from Darjeeling (Not Dorjeeling) and I have never felt that there have been any tensions between the different ethnic minorities that you see in Nepal. Darjeeling is a truly diverse Nepali community and we have never experienced the discriminative disease that Nepal suffers. When we unite, we unite as Nepalis and not as any ethnic group. Subhash Ghising was cast out from Darjeeling because he was a man who sold out his values and principles and ran the community into the ground. Its politics and not an ethnicity issue. Please stop trying to fan that corrupt ethnic unity discrimination towards Darjeeling. Its bad enough that Nepali people from Darjeeling suffer that in countries where we have to mix with the ignorant and elitist nationals of Nepal, we don't want that in Darjeeling too.
@Anonymous, firstly u are not a Tamang,its not the atitude of Tamang to hide their Name,secondly u r agent of nepali working against the Tamang interest. Its Dorjeeling not Darjeeling which does not hold anymeaning in Tamang Language, their is emple evidence in Tamang folk song that it is Dorjeeling .abosulutely im not talking about the people of nepal ,which u try to corelate, dont plant nepalism in Dorjeeling, u cant fool by writing like this, Tamang ,Lepcha , Limboo Bhutia including Yolmo, kagatey,sherpa etc are the Major tribe of the region and recognised by constitution of India as ST. Who have their own culture and tradition.Tamang are the first community to protest the imposition of wearing nepali dress by a Gorkha political party,followed by others,recently Lepcha community had series of protest in the street of kolkota and in Dorjeeling region for protection of their right, nobody say that my father on the tree.
